India as a country is emerging in various horizons. Over 300 universities along with 15,000 colleges and about 100 of regional and national institutes of research are providing higher education in India. India stands at the third position in the world for having vast professional education sector, along with huge number of students.

It’s a bit surprising that not a single Indian university managed its position in the world’s top universities. Only IIT Kharagpur, manage to acquired 41St position. Other then this there is no place for India’s IIM institutes, JNU University, Delhi University and other’s in the top most position. University from Taiwan, South Korea, and China instead grabbed good positions as the best universities.

Another fact about India being that students who have passed from Indian universities are doing good jobs in the world best companies and organisations. Students from India’s IIM, IIT and from other universities are also playing an important role in the organisation like, NASA, Microsoft, Dell, and IBM and in many others international companies.

Still it is a bitter truth that, students passing form India’s leading universities is not getting the same status in India as what they achieve in the other companies of world. There are so many reasons responsible for this difference, strong political dominance, improper funding are some of the reasons.

In India only 10 percent students approach for the higher education, in other countries this percentage reaches to 50 percent. In India except few universities, government is providing fund to most of the other universities. Emergence of self funded institutes provides a revolutionary change in the picture of India’s higher education sector. In the near future it can be hoped that India may become the best institutes and university provider nation.
